Telangana sees 403 fresh COVID-19 cases,two fatalities until Sunday night
Hyderabad,Mar 29 : As the COVID-19 surge continues in Telangana,the state reported 403 fresh coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Sunday taking the total infection count to 3,06,742 till date.
The state recorded two fresh fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours raising the
death toll thus far to 1,690 translating a case fatality of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.3 per cent,according to a state health department bulletin on Monday.
As many as 313 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide in the past 24 hours pushing the total recoveries so far to 3,00,469 constituting a recovery rate of 97.95 per cent while the national recovery rate was 94.3 per cent.
Currently,the number of active cases in the state stand at 4,583 including 1,815 individuals in home or institutional isolation,the bulletin said.
Between Saturday and Sunday, 33,930 samples were tested in the state to detect the
contagious virus out of which the results of 1,421 swab samples arte awaited.
More than one crore COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state so far since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
Remaining the top contributor of the infection,the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation registered a maximum of 146 coronavirus cases as of Sunday followed by
Medchal Malkajgiri (40),Rangareddy (34),Sangareddy (24),Mahabubnagar and Yadadri
Bhongir 11 cases each,Karimnagar and Nizamabad 10 infection cases each.
The day’s remaining coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts,the bulletin added.(UNI)
