Telangana reports 394 fresh COVID-19 cases, three fatalities unitil Saturday night

Hyderabad, Mar 21: With a continuous trend in daily increase in the infection cases, Telangana registered 394 new COVID-19 cases until 2000 hours on Saturday taking the overall Coronavirus count to 3,03,118 so far.

The state suffered three COVID-19 deaths afresh to take the total death toll to 1,669 translating a case fatality rate of 0.55 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Sunday.

The total number of recoveries till date have surged to 2,98,645 after 194 people have recuperated from Coronavirus statewide in the last 24 hours constituting a recovery rate of 98.52 per cent while the National recovery rate was 95.9 percent.

The number of active cases in the state now stand at 2,804 including 1,123 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.

About 64,898 swab samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 698 swab samples are awaited.

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, more than 96.13 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state as of yesterday.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) remain the Chief contributor of the infection by reporting a maximum of 81 fresh Coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours followed by Rangareddy district (64), Medchal Malkajigiri district (34) and Khammam district (17).

The remaining Coronavirus cases have been registered by other districts, the bulletin added.(UNI)
