Banks closed for customers in Aurangabad due to weekend lockdown
Aurangabad, Mar 20 : In view of strict curfew being observed in the district on Saturday and Sunday, all the banks in the district will be closed for customers and employees will work accordingly, said District Collector Sunil Chavan.
It may be noted that partial lockdown in the district during the night period was enforced between Monday to Friday and total lockdown on every Saturday and Sunday.
As Aurangabad is one of the worst affected due to covid pandemic, administration was imposed night curfew between 2000 to 0500 hours under the section of 144 to avoid surge in covid cases
Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mangesh Gondawale informed that there is a plan to provide 8000 beds in rural areas and to increase the capacity of Covid tests to 1000 per day.
All the citizens of the district have responded very well to this partial lockdown and weekend lockdown, said police commissioner Dr Nikhil Gupta.
However, as the number of corona cases is increasing, it has been decided that a curfew has been imposed in the entire Aurangabad district from 2000 to 0500 hours till further orders.
All citizens are urged to go home before eight o’clock at night and in effect from saturday, those entering Aurangabad will be tested for antigen at the city limits.
At Jalna, Beed, Jalgaon, Nashik, Pune and Paithan roads, antigens will be tested at six places.
Report from Jalna stated that Health Minister and District Guardian Minister Rajesh Tope has directed to take strict measures against the growing outbreak of Coronavirus in Jalna district. In view of the significant increase in the number of corona patients in Jalna city and district over the last few days.
In Hingoli district, an independent Covid Care Center has been set up for female patients infected with Covid and female medical officers and female health workers have been posted there. It is the first women’s covid center in the state.
The center, which is being set up at a minority girls hostel in the Limbal area near the city, has a capacity to treat up to 100 patients and oxygen cylinders are also available in case of emergency, said health officials .
In Latur district Municipal Commissioner Aman Mittal has appealed to all traders to put up a ‘No Mask, No Entry’ sign in front of their shops. He was speaking at a meeting of the Federation of Traders against the growing outbreak of the coronavirus.
Commissioner Mittal directed all traders to abide by the Covid prohibition rules. The Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has appealed to all shops and establishments to close within the stipulated time and ensure that no punitive action is taken.
It may be noted that Marathwada which was reeling under the second wave of Covid reported 3,473 positive cases along with 13 deaths.(UNI)
