Telangana CM Highlights Education & Healthcare at Arogya Utsavalu

HYDERABAD, DEC 2 :Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted his government’s commitment to education and healthcare during the Arogya Utsavalu event held at the HMDA Grounds, NTR Marg, on Monday.

The program was part of the Prajapalana Vijayotsavalu celebrations, marking the completion of one year of Congress governance in the state.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister criticised the previous BRS government for failing to create job opportunities and underscored his administration’s achievements in employment generation.

“In just one year, we have facilitated over 50,000 government job appointments, a milestone unprecedented in the history of the country. We have revamped the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), ensuring transparency in examinations and appointments. Through DSC, we provided jobs to 11,000 people in a span of 55 days,” he stated.

CM Reddy accused certain groups of attempting to disrupt the Group-1 examination process, alleging that such actions could exacerbate the plight of unemployed youth.

“For the past decade, no Group-1 jobs were offered, and irregularities such as question paper leaks tarnished the system. We achieved Telangana through the sacrifices of the youth, but their expectations of job opportunities were betrayed under the previous government,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister highlighted reforms in TGPSC, including the appointment of senior IAS officers and experts, replacing what he termed as a “rehabilitation centre” under the previous regime. He also announced initiatives to address long-standing vacancies in universities and outlined measures to revitalise the education and healthcare sectors.

“We are committed to making education and healthcare accessible to all. Congress has a legacy of providing quality medical care to the poor. Over the past 11 months, we have allocated Rs 830 crores through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to support medical treatments for underprivileged families,” he said.

As part of the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated 213 new ambulances, including 136 for the 108 emergency services and 77 for 102 maternal and child health services.

He also virtually inaugurated 16 nursing colleges, 28 government-affiliated healthcare colleges, and 32 transgender clinics.

Revanth Reddy handed appointment letters to 442 newly selected Civil Assistant Surgeons and 24 Food Safety Officers in the State Medical, Health, and Family Welfare Department.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy joined the Chief Minister in inspecting stalls set up by the Medical and Health Department at the venue.
