Naidu files quash petition in AP HC over registering FIR by CID

Vijayawada, Mar 18 : Telugu Desam Party National president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu filed a quash petition in the Andhra Pradesh Court challenging the FIR registered against him for committing irregularities in the land acquisition from some farmers belonging to the SC/ST communities.

Mr.Naidu was served a notice by the CID on March 17 to attend before the officials on March 23.

In the notice, Mr Naidu was warned of being arrested if he failed to attend before the CID officials on March 23.

Mr Naidu sought the High Court to quash the FIR registered by the AP police (Crime Investigation Department).

Advocates told the media that the quash petition is likely to come for hearing tomorrow.

The ruling YSRCP MLA Alla Rama Krishna Reddy lodged a complaint stating that some of the farmers in the Amaravati region were cheated by the influenced persons of the then N Chandrababu Naidu headed TDP government by taking away their lands illegally and fraudulently by keeping the innocent peasants under confusion and fear of insecurity by making false representation that the government was going to take away their “Assigned” lands without giving compensation.

Several irregularities took place causing irreparable loss to the SC/ST community’ people, the YSRCP MLA complained in his petition.

The CID wing of the police registered cases and registered FIR against Mr Chandrababu Naidu and the then Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana.(UNI)
