Assam: UP CM visits historic Kamakhya temple

Guwahati, Mar 17 :BJPs star campaigner and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who is on a day visit to poll bound Assam, today visited historic Kamakhya temple and offered his prayers before leaving for his election rallies.

To boost the electioneering taking place in Assam ahead of the Assembly Elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend three public rallies at Hojai, Kalaigaon and Rangiya assembly constituencies.

BJP has released a list of star campaigners for the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections beginning later this month. The list includes the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda among others.

Assam is going to polls in three phases beginning March 27. The second and third phase of polling will be held on April 1 and April 6, respectively. Results are due on May 2 when votes will be taken up for counting.

As per the list of star campaigners for Assam polls released by the BJP, union ministers Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Narendra Singh Tomar and Smriti Irani will campaign extensively in the northeastern state. Chief Ministers of several BJP-ruled states including Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Shivraj Singh Chouhan (Madhya Pradesh) and N Biren Singh (Manipur) will also be among star campaigners for the Assam Assembly.(UNI)
