HYDERABAD/NEW DELHI, SEP 13 :  Union Minister and BJP Telangana President G Kishan Reddy on Friday expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for extending the Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme (ABHIS) to all senior citizens aged 70 and above.

The extension of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) provides medical insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh to senior citizens, ensuring free treatment at government-approved hospitals for both minor and major diseases. This decision brings much-needed relief to millions of elderly citizens, reinforcing the government’s commitment to their welfare.

In Telangana alone, approximately 30 lakh families have already benefited from the scheme. The expanded coverage aims to provide healthcare support to more senior citizens across India, boosting their confidence and ensuring better medical care.(UNI)
