Thane, Mar 16 :Covid positive cases continue to rise as Thane district registered 983 new cases in the last 24 hours, the district authorities said Today.

With this, the total number of positive cases has spurted to 2,77,569.

While six fatalities were reported, a number of death cases have rallied to 6343.

The mortality rate was 2.29 per cent, he added.

So far, 2,61.649 patients have recuperated from the infection, which took the recovery rate to 94.26 per cent. There are 9,577 active cases in the district at present, the official said.



In neighboring Palghar district, the COVID-19 case count has gone up to 46,811 while the death toll is 1,207 he said.(UNI)
