IPU begins its new student orientation program.
NEW DELHI, AUG 12 : A week-long orientation cum induction programme for over 1000 newly admitted students was inaugurated at the GGSIPU campus on August 12. The programme included an oath against drug usage under the ‘Nasha Mukt Abhiyan’.
Padma Shri Prof (Dr) Mahesh Verma, highlighting the achievements of Indraprastha University, stated, “How long you want to fly, and how far you want to fly, depends upon the magnitude of your dreaming. Our courses aim at holistic development, integrated approach and impart value-added education along with sufficient room for extra-curricular activities and learning of soft skills. The aptitude along with the attitude marks the level of altitude one can rise up to in his or her own career. The five pathways to success include that of vision, courage, submission, sympathy and integrity.”
Pro C S Rai, Director, Academic Affairs, emphasised the importance of adhering to the academic framework of the courses. Prof Vaishali Singh, Head, Centre for Human Values and Ethics (CHVE), spoke on the power of thought and provided information on student-related administrative offices within the university.
University Counselor Ms Geetanjali Kumar addressed the topic of ‘sensitising students on mental and emotional wellbeing’. The Legal Aid Cell of the University presented a colourful play titled ‘Swikrati ke raah’, followed by a cultural programme performed by DSW students.(UNI)
