Central team will evaluate Telangana’s flood damage
HYDERABAD/NEW DELHI, SEP 9 : The central government will dispatch a six-member team to assess the damage caused by recent floods and untimely rains in Telangana.
The team, led by Colonel Kirti Pratap Singh, Advisor to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Joint Secretary (Operations & Communications) from the Union Home Ministry, will visit flood-affected areas on September 11 (Wednesday), including Khammam and Mahabubabad districts.
The team will include officials from the Department of Finance, Department of Agriculture, Department of Roads and Highways, Department of Rural Development, and the National Remote Sensing Centre. During their visit, the team will interact with local victims and officials to gather detailed insights into the extent of the damage.
Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy held a phone conversation with Colonel Kirti Pratap Singh on Monday, discussing the team’s upcoming visit, according to an official statement.(UNI)
