Huballi, Mar 13: State Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti said here today that he had asked the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation to build Special Bus Stands which should be Model to others to handle the Physically challenged people in the state.
He was speaking after distributing 18 Tri-wheelers costing Rupees 73,000 each and financed by him through the legislator’s grant at a function here today to the physically challenged beneficiaries from the region.
He said that he would pay Rupees 15 Lakhs to each of the Four Proposed such Model Bus stands from Legislator’s local development fund as it is very Important to extend all the necessary assistance to the Physically challenged.
The proposed Bus stands can be used by non-physically challenged people also.
He said he has distributed all the Rupees Two Crore grant that he had received from the government so far including for the Building renovation etc., of the educational institutions. Since the funds are distributed through the relevant district authorities, he has cautioned the officials against any misuse of the funds.(UNI
