Thane, Mar 11 :Officials of the Crime Unit I of the city police on Tuesday arrested two persons from Telangana who had smuggled Ganja into the city the police said.

Sr. PI Nitin Thackeray of the Crime Unit I of the city police said that acting on a tip off the police team laid a trap near the Castle Mills Bus stop and nabbed the duo who arrived with bags of the narcotics on Tuesday.

The police seized from them a total of 11.950 kgs of the Ganja valued at around Rs. 2.40 lakhs the police said.

The police gave their names as Anil Tappanil,28, Sangareddi and Subash Gurugulla, 43, Sangareddi.

AN offence under the NDPS Act has been registered against them with the Rabodi police station the officer said.

The police are trying to find out as to from where they got the Ganaja and to whom they were to sell it.(UNI)
