Kochi, Mar 11 :Senior Congress leader PC Chacko has resigned from the party alleging that no democracy left in the Congress.

PC Chacko who sent his resignation letter to AICC president Sonia Gandhi raised a sharp criticism against the Congress high command and some groups within the party.

The senior party leader took the decision after facing negligence in connection with the candidate selection relating to the upcoming Assembly elections in Kerala.

PC Chacko alleged that the 40-member election committee did not hold any discussion over candidate selection. The committee selected candidates as per the opinion of some leaders including, Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala, with vested interests, he alleged.(UNI)
