Travel advisories are issued by the Indian Embassy in Beirut following an increase in Israel-Hezbollah attacks.
BEIRUT/NEW DELHI, JULY 29 : The Indian Embassy in Beirut on Monday asked Indian nationals in Lebanon and those planning to travel to the Middle East country to exercise caution and remain in contact with the Embassy, in view of the sharp escalation in attacks between the Hezbollah and Israel.
In a post on X, the Indian Embassy said:
“In view of the recent development in the region, all Indian nationals in Lebanon and those planning to travel to Lebanon are advised to exercise caution and remain in contact with the Embassy of India in Beirut.”
The advisory was issued after a rocket from Lebanon struck a soccer field in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights, killing 12 children and teens in what the military called the deadliest attack on civilians since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.
Israel and the US have blamed Hezbollah for Saturday’s rocket attack.
In response, Israel’s military confirmed it had launched airstrikes against Hezbollah targets “deep inside Lebanese territory”.
Saturday’s attack raised fears that the conflict between Israel and Hamas would lead to a broader regional war.(UNI)
