Maha: CM authorizes Rs. 800 crore in funding for the Integrated Turmeric Research Center
MUMBAI, JUL 24 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday approved a fund of Rs 800 crore for first Integrated Turmeric Research Centre in the country being established at Vasmat in Hingoli district of Marathawada region of the state.
He gave this approval in a review meeting held at the Sahyadri guest house regarding the Turmeric Research Centre and directed to complete this project in three years.
Speaking in this meeting, he said that keeping in mind demand for turmeric in the country and across the world, farmers of the state should be encouraged to cultivate turmeric and cluster it.
The Chief Minister expressed his belief that there will be a golden revolution in the state with production of turmeric in drought-affected areas like Marathwada and Vidarbha.
He directed to give the Centre the benefit of government circulation schemes. Shinde lauded Vasmat Haldi for getting GI rating.(UNI)
