The legislative assembly of Telangana adjourned

HYDERABAD, JULY 23 :  The budget session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly, which began here on Tuesday, was adjourned after a condolence motion for Cantonment BRS MLA Lasya Nandita’s death.

All the members observed a two-minute silence to mourn her death. Following this, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar adjourned the session to 1000 hours on Wednesday.

The session started at 1100 hours. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy introduced a condolence motion on the death of Lasya Nandita, who had represented the Cantonment Assembly Constituency, Secunderabad.

While moving the condolence motion, the Chief Minister said that Sayanna, father of Lasya Nandita, was born into a modest family and advanced step by step. He provided numerous services to the people as an MLA and died while still active in public life. People elected Kumari Lasya Nandita as the Cantonment MLA as Sayanna’s successor.

However, the accidental death of Lasya is deeply saddening. Sayanna was soft-spoken and got along with everyone, regardless of politics. He aspired to merge the cantonment area into GHMC. Unfortunately, he was not among us when this was fulfilled. He would have been happy if Lasya was alive. Sadly, they are not with us at this crucial time. Even though they are no longer with us, they remain forever in the hearts of people. Our government will carry forward their ambitions and the things they want to do. I move the resolution, expressing my deepest condolences to his family.

Later, Legislative Affairs Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, MLAs KTR, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Sunitha Lakshmareddy, Mutha Gopal, Rajasekhar Reddy, Koonanneni Sambasivarao, Eleti Maheshwar Reddy, L. Shankar, Makkan Singh Raj Thakur, and Ganesh expressed their condolences for the death of Lasya Nandita and supported the condolence motion.

A Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting will be held after the House adjourns. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka is scheduled to present the state budget in the Assembly on July 25. On the same day, at 9:00 AM, the Cabinet will convene in the Assembly Committee Hall to approve the budget.
The Legislative Council will begin its session at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.(UNI)
