An inquiry committee was established to look into the goods train derailment.

MORADABAD (UP) JULY 21 :  An inquiry committee has been constituted to probe the derailment of 12 containers of a freight train in Amroha yard even as the repairing of the railway track is underway, a senior Railway officer said here on Sunday.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (SrDCM) Aditya Gupta said that on Saturday a long-distance freight train from Kashipur in Izzat Nagar division with 41 wagons was going to Ghari Harsoor in Delhi division on the UP line. “Around 5.15 PM 12 containers of the train derailed at gate number 27 of Amroha UP yard,” he said.

He said due to the derailment of a long-distance train traffic on the UP and down track was disrupted on the Lucknow-Delhi route for the whole night. “After getting the information work to remove containers was started with the help of two cranes. Movement of 16 trains was disrupted for 16 hours on Sunday,” he said.

Gupta said while the route of 8 trains has been diverted, five others have been cancelled.
DRM Spokesperson said an inquiry committee has been constituted in connection with the derailment of coaches of the container goods train. Experts from operations, mechanical, and engineering departments have been included in the committee who will investigate the causes of the incident and where the mistake occurred.(UNI)
