Telangana ought to serve as the nation’s model state: CM

HYDERABAD, JULY 17 :  Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has stated that the state should serve as a role model for the country, particularly in agricultural policy.

Speaking at a meeting held at Praja Bhavan on Wednesday, attended by Congress MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and party leaders, Reddy mentioned that July 18 (Thursday) would be a memorable day in his life, as farmers will receive Rs 1 lakh under the agriculture loan waiver scheme at 1600 hours.

He announced that Rs 7,000 crores will be directly deposited into farmers’ accounts, and by the end of the month, farmers’ loans of up to Rs 1.5 lakh out of Rs 2 lakh will be waived.

He emphasized that when the Gandhi family makes a promise, it is steadfast. The TPCC President and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy decided to hold a rally under the party’s leadership in view of the loan waiver tomorrow (Thursday).

He mentioned that the state government had planned to waive agriculture loans up to Rs 2 lakh before August 15 but is doing so earlier.

CM Revanth recalled that former minister and BRS leader Harish Rao said he would resign if the loan waiver happened. Many doubted the feasibility of such a waiver, but he asserted that sincerity makes everything possible.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy claimed that AICC leader Sonia Gandhi fulfilled the 60-year aspiration of Telangana. He urged ministers, MLAs, MLCs, Congress leaders, and activists to campaign for the loan waiver at village, mandal, and constituency levels, reminding them that they went to villages asking for votes and should now inform villagers that the loan has been waived off.

He stressed the importance of a national-level campaign on loan waivers and urged Members of Parliament to discuss the loan waiver in the national media.

He highlighted that the Telangana government has achieved something unprecedented among state governments in the country, noting that the loan waiver was not Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise but Rahul Gandhi’s guarantee.

He added that late CM Rajasekhara Reddy’s free electricity, Arogyasri, and Indiramma’s houses are still talked about, and the loan waiver scheme will be discussed for the next 20 years.

Deputy Chief Ministers Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Damodara Rajanarsimha, Seethakka, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, and DCC presidents participated in this meeting.(UNI)
