Rajya Sabha adjourned till 1200 hrs over farmers’ agitation
New Delhi, Mar 10: The proceedings of Rajya Sabha were adjourned till 1200 hrs on Wednesday after the Opposition created a ruckus
demanding an immediate discussion on the farmers’ agitation.
After the House met in the morning and the necessary documents were laid on the table, the Opposition Members moved motion under Rule 267 to
suspend business of the day to discuss the farmers’ agitation which was rejected by Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu.
At this, the agitating Members rushed to the well of the House and started sloganeering.
The Speaker repeatedly requested the members to calm down and allow the House to function.
When all his attempts to the placate the members failed, he adjourned the House till 1200 hrs.(UNI)
