Maha Assemly adjourned over Fadnavis demand to arrest Mumbai cop

Mumbai, Mar 9 :Maharashtra Assembly was adjourned on Tuesday after former state chief minister Devendra Fadnavis demanded the arrest of Mumbai Police’s ‘encounter specialist’ API Sachin Vaze in connection with the Mukesh Ambani bomb threat case.
Addressing the Maharashtra Assembly, Mr Fadnavis said that the explosive-laden car that was found outside Mukesh Ambani’s residence Antilia last month was in possession of Vaze for four months prior to the incident.
The car’s owner Mansukh Hiren was later found dead. Fadnavis claimed that Mansukh Hiren’s wife suspects that Sachin Vaze killed her husband.
In the house Fadnavis read out a statement from Mansukh Hiren’s wife, and said that Vaze had advised Hiren to get himself arrested and that he would get him out on bail safely. However, his wife advised him against it and Hiren sought legal help for anticipatory bail, Fadnavis claimed, adding that the wife suspects that Vaze killed Hiren and that Vaze should be arrested.
Fadnavis also claimed that the last known location of Mansukh Hiren’s phone was near Shiv Sena leader Dhananjay Gawde’s office. Shiv Sena leader Dhananjay Gawde and API Sachin Vaze were named in an extortion case in 2017.
Devendra Fadnavis’s statement caused a ruckus in the Assembly, and opposition members were seen shouting slogans against the Goverment.
Vaze was recently reinsted by the Maharashtra govt after he was in 2007 suspended along with 14 other policemen over charges of murder in the custodial death of Khwaja Yunus, a suspect in the 2002 Ghatkopar bomb blast case. (UNI)
