Candle rally taken out to mark international women’s day

Kakinada, Mar 7: An impressive candle rally was taken out from the district police office to Bhanugudi junction here on Sunday evening to mark the celebration of International women’s day.

Top officials of the district both revenue and police besides other departments have participated in the rally holding candles highlighting the importance of women in various walks of life.

Superintendent of police Adnan Nayeem Asmi along with the department personnel of all ranks took part in the rally along with Joint Collectors Keerti Chekuri and G. Rajakumary walking fast which has attracted the attention of the passersby.

Additional SP SEB Dr Sumit Garud, Additional SP Administration Karanam Kumar, DSPs V Bhimarao, Ambika Prasad, M Venkateswerarao, Sunkara Murali Mohan were among those that took part in the rally.

SP Asmi during his brief address has highlighted the pivotal role played by women in shaping the future of the family members as a housewife and undertaking efficiently the multi-faceted jobs if an employee either in private and government organizations.

SP Adnan said that the Mobile shops had come forward to honour the womenfolk by offering ten percent concession in purchases ,of course,to those who download the DISHA App as advised by the DGP Goutham Sawang.

In the morning district collector D.Muralidhara Reddy has inaugurated the women’s sports meet on the occasion of International women’s day under the auspices of the women’s wing of the district NGOs association at the district sports stadium. (UNI)
