As Andhra DGP, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao assumes leadership.

VIJAYAWADA, JUNE 21 :  Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao took charge as Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) here on Friday.

The 1989 batch IPS officer was appointed as the state police chief by the N Chandrababu Naidu headed government.

Dwaraka Tirumala Rao worked as vice-chairman and Managing Director of APSRTC from June 2021 till he took charge as the state DGP.

Rao is the senior most IPS officer in the state. He started his career as ASP in Kurnool district and has worked in Railways, CBI, Counter Intelligence and OCTOPUS, previously.

Senior IPS officers Shanarabatra Bagchi, KL Meena, Atul Singh, Vinij Brijlala, Srikanth, Rajakumari, Navin Jetti and Mohan Rao congratulated and conveyed their wishes to the new DGP.(UNI)
