Cyberabad Police celebrates Intl Women’s Day
Hyderabad, Mar 6 :Cyberabad Police and Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) on Friday celebrated International Women’s Day
It was a hybrid event – in person and online. (Zoom and streamed live on Facebook). Five hundred people participated in the celebrations.
Theme for the celebration was the United Nations theme “Choose to Challenge”.
Chief National Badminton Coach Pullela Gopichand was the Chief Guest and Indian Badminton Player Ms Mansi Joshi, Guest of Honour at the celebrations.
Mr V C Sajjanar, Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Ms Anasuya, DCP-Women & Children Safety Wing, Cyberabad; Mr Krishna Yedula, Secretary General SCSC, Ms Pratyusha Sharma, Jt. Secretary, Women Forum, SCSC; DCPs Padmaja, Venkateshwarlu, Vinay Agarwal of Tech Mahindra also graced the occasion.
Pullela Gopichand who launched a Safety e learning module in order to create awareness about women safety said nearly 4 lakh out of 10 lakh IT force work in Cyberabad are women. So this 20 minute digital module is the answer. It is very important. It is launched in 3 languages-Hindi, English and Telugu, said Krishna Yedula. We want to reach out to all employees to achieve a holistic approach in our efforts, he said.
Gender equality is under-rated. Our culture taught us to respect women. And that has ingrained us from our childhood, said Pullela Gopichand.
My wife feels secured to travel back from the airport to home thanks to the She Team. So also my 18 year old daughter and many athletes at our academy, Gopichand said.
Best performers so far in the sporting world like in Badminton have been women. Good about them is that if they decide, they give their 100 per cent, Gopichand said.
Manasi Joshi, a para-badminton player, the current World Champion and a changemaker said that in her hour of crisis she used better balancing skills she learned through the sport, badminton.
She shared her struggle and how she bounced back after her injury and subsequent success as a Para Badminton Player.
Womanhood itself is a celebration. There is no need to celebrate it on one particular day, she observed.
There is no world without women. So be joyful all through the month and year, said Mr Sajjanar.
Lot of people talk about women empowerment but Pullela Gopichand has put it in practice, Mr Sajjanar said.
The theme being “choose to challenge”, my challenge as Commissioner of Police is to see that women work in all the verticals of Police in Cyberabad Commissionerate.(UNI)
