MUMBAI, JUNE 4 :  The rupee on Tuesday dropped 36 paise to 83.51 against USD in the opening session following disappointing early counting trends in the Lok Sabha elections.

The local unit slid on rising demands for U.S. dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.

Even the slumping equity market impacted the same.
The rupee recorded intraday highs and lows at 83.43 and 83.55, respectively, the dealer added.(UNI)
