Not enough to give Atamanirbhar Bharat slogan without taking appropriate steps : Min
Hyderabad, Mar 5 : Telangana IT and Industry Minister K T Rama Rao on Friday criticized the Centre that it is not enough to give the Atamanirbhar Bharat, Make in India and among other slogans without taking appropriate steps in this direction.
Speaking at a conference on Reimagining & Catalyzing Growth for a Sustainable Tomorrow, organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Telangana on the occasion of its Annual meeting held at a private hotel here, Mr Rao said that the state was progressing in several areas including Information Technology, Pharma, Agriculture sectors even in COVID 19 pandemic.
He said in ease of doing business, Telangana has occupied third position in the country. The state was also forefront in IT exports, Life Sciences, Pharma and construction. IT exports has touched to Rs 1.40 lakh crore with the growth rate of 7 per cent, the Minister added,
“Telangana has become the vaccine capital of India, he said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is taking several steps to make agriculture profitable in the state and setting up special food processing zones.
Hyderabad is home to the defense and aerospace sectors,” Mr Rao said.
While criticizing Centre for not fulfilling its promises, the Minister said that it has not fulfilled its promise in the Andhra Pradesh Re-Organization Act including Special Incentives, Railway Coach factory at Kazipet in Warangal district and Bayyaram Steel plant.
He stated that the Centre has not extended its cooperation in setting up of ITIR, Pharma Park, Textile Park and Electronics Manufacturing industry in the state.
The Minister said that the Centre has sanctioned Bullet train to Gujarat, where as it has not allocated even single corridor to southern states. “Central government should take appropriate steps keeping in view of people’s well being instead of elections”, he added.(UNI)
