CHINSURAH ( HOOGHLY) MAY 12   :    Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a BJP rally here was overwhelmed and stopped his speech midway after seeing two people holding portraits of his ( PM’s) mother blessing him by holding his shoulder.

Modi after seeing the potraits stopped his speech and told them, ” I am pained to see you holding portraits for some time and now.I realise that those are for me. Yes one of those is of my mother, ” Modi said and asked the SPG personnel to collect them for him.

” You do not moe since there is a tremendous gathering and the SPG personnel will get it from
you, ” Modi said and asked them to write down their home address. He said he will reply to them not today but at an appropriate time.

The portraits were presented to Modi today that coincided with Mother’s Day.
He said the people in the ‘West’ are celebrating ‘Mother’s Day’ today but in India, mothers are worshipped throughout the year.

” We worship our Mother, Ma Durga, Ma Kaali and Bharat Mata, 365 days a year, ” he said.
Another pencil sketch portrait was of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi. Both the portraits are framed with glass.(UNI)
