Phake emails: Center asks Delhi Police and schools to work closely together
NEW DELHI, MAY 6 : In the wake of hoax emails received by some schools in Delhi-NCR recently, Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Monday asked the Delhi Police and schools to have close coordination for an effective response mechanism so that misinformation does not create any unnecessary panic.
While reviewing the situation, Bhalla stressed the need to prepare detailed protocols and SOPs to handle any such situation in future, Ministry of Home Affairs said.

Moreover, he emphasised the need to enhance security, CCTV cameras and regular monitoring of emails in the schools.
“Home Secretary reviews the situation in wake of hoax emails received by some schools in Delhi last week. He stressed the need to prepare detailed protocols and SOPs to handle any such situation in future,” Spokesperson, Ministry of Home Affairs said on X.

It may be mentioned that on May 1, multiple schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threat emails, which were later declared a “hoax” by the police and the government. The email, containing threats, was sent to multiple users at around 4.30 a.m.(UNI)
