Telangana Chief Minister announces caste census and welfare and education projects

HYDERABAD, JAN 27   :    Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy declared that a Caste Census will be initiated in the state soon, emphasising the government’s commitment to fulfilling the promise made during the Assembly elections.

The Chief Minister conducted a thorough review of BC, Minority, and Tribal Welfare Departments at the Secretariat on Saturday, as per an official statement, an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office said.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Revanth Reddy confirmed the impending Caste Census, and officials have been directed to take necessary actions to launch the initiative promptly.

The Chief Minister ordered officials to provide complete details of Gurukul schools currently operating in rented buildings and proposed the construction of permanent Gurukul buildings. Proposals for these buildings will be prepared, taking into account the estimated construction costs.

The CM emphasised the prompt clearance of diet charges, cosmetic charges, and cooking bills of Gurukul schools. Payments for these expenses will be facilitated through a green channel for efficient financial transactions.
CM Reddy directed officials to implement the scholarship scheme more effectively, ensuring a higher number of students avail its benefits. A framework will be established to prioritise students pursuing higher education in top-ranked foreign universities.

CM Revanth Reddy proposed establishing all SC, ST, and BC Gurukul institutions within Integrated Educational Hubs in every Assembly Constituency. This move aims to streamline the management, supervision, and administration of schools, fostering a more competitive and talented student environment.

The CM highlighted plans to seek cooperation from corporate bodies and companies for the construction of educational hubs. CSR funds will be mobilised, and donations from donors will contribute to the construction of these buildings.

Funds will be collected through CSR for necessary infrastructure, supplying blankets, notebooks, uniforms, and books for students in government welfare hostels. The CM ordered officials to prepare budget estimates to provide scheme benefits, including gold, to the beneficiaries of Kalyana Mastu and Shaadi Mubarak.

The Chief Minister announced the study of establishing BC Study Circles in every Parliamentary constituency as an alternative to existing study circles.

BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, ST Welfare Minister Seethakka, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, and other top officials participated in the review meeting.(UNI)
