Union Minister Kishan Reddy will open the Salar Jung Museum’s new galleries tomorrow.

HYDERABAD JANUARY 20  :    On Sunday, Dr. A Yadagiri Rao, a well-known sculptor and Padma recipient, Prof. Y. Sudershan Rao, a former chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research, and honorable board members of the Salar Jung Museum will be present as Union Minister for Culture, Tourism, and DoNER, G. Kishan Reddy, opens five new galleries at the Salar Jung Museum.

The rearranged galleries as well as the five new ones are as follows: The Indian sculpture gallery houses about forty items, some of which date back to the second century B.C. Notable sculptures include “Anantsayana Vishnu” from the Kakatiya period and a fragment from Bharhut with a lotus medallion, among many other noteworthy pieces. The BIDRIWARE GALLERY has over 300 one-of-a-kind items, including beautiful “huqqa” bases and ewers. In 180 different media, antique antiques from all over the world are on display at the LAMP & CHANDELIER GALLERY. There are more than a hundred bronze statues in THE EUROPEAN BRONZE GALLERY and fifty superb marble sculptures in THE EUROPEAN MARBLE GALLERY.

One of the most prominent museums in India is the Salarjung Museum in Hyderabad. Reorganizing existing galleries and introducing new ones from collections with intriguing potential to appeal to the public are efforts to continuously innovate and upgrade in the field of museum studies, in line with new technology and presentation techniques.
