A “permanent ceasefire” in Gaza is demanded by EU MPs.
HYDERABAD, Jan 19 : On Thursday, the resolution that is not legally binding was approved with 312 votes in favor, 131 against, and 32 abstentions.
The resolution vehemently denounces Israel’s out-of-control military reaction to the October 7 al-Aqsa Storm Operation, despite the fact that it reiterates the West’s antagonistic posture toward the Palestinian Resistance.
Legislators from Europe also voiced worry about the humanitarian situation in Gaza and underlined how critical it is that aid reach the Gaza Strip fully and unhindered.
They demanded that all parties to the conflict pledge to deliver humanitarian aid in compliance with international human rights legislation.
In addition, the resolution makes it clear that Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are prohibited by international law and stresses the need to terminate the occupation of Palestinian territory.
