VIJAYAWADA, JAN 16   :    YS Sharmila has been appointed the President of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).

Congress party General Secretary KC Venugopal on Tuesday issued a letter appointing YS Sharmila APCC president.

The outgoing APCC president Gidugu Rudraraju will be a Special Invitee to the Congress Working Committee.

The newly appointed APCC president YS Sharmila is the younger sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. It may be mentioned here that YS Sharmil merged her YSR TP in the Congress party in Telangana state a couple of weeks ago.

With the appointment of Y S Sharmila as APCC president, politics in Andhra Pradesh will take a new turn as she is to counter her Chief Minister brother Jagan Mohan Reddy in the next elections.(UNI)
