Telangana Assembly elects former chief minister KCR as leader of the BRS Legislature Party.

HYDERABAD, DEC 9  :   BRS Legislature Party, which met at Telangana Bhavan here on Saturday unanimously elected former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, popularly known as KCR, as the leader of the BRSLP in the Assembly.

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of BRS Parliamentary Party leader K Keshava Rao.
Former Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy proposed KCR’s name and it was supported by former Ministers T Srinivas Yadav and Kadiyam Srihari.

Besides, unanimously passing a resolution with regard to Chandrashekar Rao’s election as the BRSLP leader, the meeting also passed a resolution to give responsibility to the former Chief Minister to select other committee members in the house.

KCR who was hospitalized with hip injury, has successfully undergone left total hip replacement surgery at Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda, here on Friday evening.
The usual course of recovery is expected to be six to eight weeks, the Hospitals said in its health bulletin earlier.

In 2004, BRS (earlier TRS) made G.Vijayarama Rao as legislature party leader and in 2009, party then MLA Eatala Rajender was given the post.
In 2004 and 2009, the former Chief Minister won the Lok Sabha election from Karimnagar and Mahbubnagar constituencies.(UNI)
