Mamata declares several new BGB policies.

KOLKATA, NOV 21 : The seventh edition of the two-day Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) started off here on Tuesday with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announcing a series of new policies.
Over 1000 delegates from 35 countries are actively participating in the summit.

Banerjee, while unveiling the Bengal Global Business Summit, 2023, announced a series of new policies aimed at doubling the state’s exports, upgrading logistical infrastructure, and fostering renewable energy manufacturing.

Banerjee also introduced initiatives promoting biofuelsand a new sub-sea cable landing station in Digha to bolster internet connectivity in the eastern region.

Banerjee said, ” Bengal is considered as an ideal destination for business. “

” Bengal is the economic power house and among the fastest growing economies in India, ” Banerjee stated.” Bengal’s booming industrial and economic growth is justified through the figures : GSDP increased by 4 times, revenue grew up to 4 times and budget allocation increased by 3.8 times. Bengal means Business. “

” In the last 6 editions of BGBS, investment proposals worth $190 billion have been received, ” she maintained.

Projects worth a resounding $121 billion have already taken off, while the remaining ones are in various stages of implementation, Banerjee mentioned.
These figures stand as a resolute testament to the pivotal role BGBS plays in increasing investments in Bengal, she further said.

She also highlighted the state’s development plans and pointed out the setting up of four industrial corridors – Dankuni-Kalyani, Tajpur port-Raghunathpur, Dankuni-Jhargram and Durgapur to Cooch Behar in Bengal northern districts.(UNI)
