Palvai Sravanti, a former Congress leader, joins BRS
HYDERABAD, NOV 12 : Former Congress leader Palvai Sravanti, who had resigned from the party on Saturday, joined the Bharat Rashtra Samiti in the presence of BRS Working President and Minister K T Rama Rao at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday.
Palvai Sravanti quit the Congress as she was upset at the party’s decision not to allocate a ticket to her from Munugode Assembly Constituency and instead giving the ticket to Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy who recently switched to the grand old party from the BJP.
Addressing the gathering, KTR welcomed Sravanti to the BRS and referred her as a sister.
The Ministser criticized the Congress party for the treatment meted out to senior Congress leader late Palvai Govardhan Reddy’s family, who had been loyal to the party through thick and thin. Sravanthi was his daughter.
He highlighted the family’s contribution to the party, citing Sravanti’s commendable performance in the previous byelection.
Sravanti expressed concern for the future of the leaders who had stood by her during challenging times, assuring that she would take responsibility for their well-being as they embark on this new political journey within the BRS.(UNI)
