In Telangana, the BJP offers a 10% reservation for tribal people: Kishan
MULUGU (TELANGANA), OCT 11 :Union Minister of Tourism and BJP President for Telangana G Kishan Reddy on Wednesday pledged to provide a 10 percent reservation for tribals in the state if the BJP comes to power in the next assembly elections.
During a media briefing in Mulugu district, the Union Minister expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for allocating the first installment of Rs. 900 crore for the Tribal Central University in Telangana, named after Goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma.
Reddy stated that the central government, led by Prime Minister Modi, is dedicated to safeguarding the culture and traditions of tribals across the nation and honoring the sacrifices of tribal heroes.
He outlined various programs initiated by the government for tribal welfare.
Reddy also disclosed that the central government will fund the construction of a tribal memorial museum with a budget of Rs. 25 crores in Hyderabad and the establishment of a tribal research institute with a budget of Rs. 6.5 crores.
In addition, he recalled the Prime Minister’s efforts in securing UNESCO recognition for Rudreshwara Temple (Rampappa Gudi) in Mulugu district.
Furthermore, Reddy highlighted the establishment of Ekalavya model schools for tribals, special funds for the development of tribal-affected areas, and the allocation of funds for the construction of museums nationwide to honor tribal fighters.
He also announced the establishment of 17 new ‘Ekalavya Schools’ with a budget of Rs 420 crores to promote education in tribal areas with the goal of increasing literacy among these communities.
The government has identified tribal areas as aspirational districts (the most backward districts) and allocated special funds for development programs. An amount of Rs. 37 crores has been released for Bhupalpally, Asifabad, and Bhadradri-Kothagudem districts in Telangana.
Reddy emphasized on various programs being undertaken for tribal development, including infrastructure development under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, connecting tribal circuits, and spending Rs. 80 crores for Mulugu-Lucknow-Medavaram-Tadwai-Damarawai-Mallur-Bogata Falls.
An additional Rs 92 crores has been allocated for the eco-circuit between Somasila, Singottam, Kadalivanam, Akkamahadevi, Egalapenta, Farahabad, and Umamaheswaram to enhance facilities for tourists.
Reddy expressed the central government’s commitment to the welfare of tribals.
