Kishan Reddy inaugurates Mega Medical Camp in Hyd
HYDERABAD, OCT 8 : Union Minister of Tourism & Culture and President of the Telangana BJP, G Kishan Reddy, inaugurated a large-scale Medical Camp organized by Sevabharathi, a non-political charitable organization, at Trishul Convention, Amberpet in the city on Sunday.
Addressing the media during the event, Reddy emphasized the significant steps taken by the Central government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in bolstering healthcare infrastructure in government hospitals.
He mentioned that the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) has made substantial improvements in healthcare facilities in the state, reserving 50 percent of medical college seats for the children of workers and enhancing facilities in Gandhi, Osmania, and Railway Hospitals.
Reddy highlighted the allocation of substantial funds from the Central government for the development of infrastructure, including primary healthcare centers and Basti Dawakhanas.
He also expressed concerns about the state government’s neglect of Osmania Hospital and the urgent need for improved facilities.
Reddy underlined the importance of the Ayushman Bharat program, which offers healthcare opportunities to the economically disadvantaged, and urged the state government to initiate the distribution of Ayushman cards in Telangana.
Additionally, he mentioned Seva Bharati’s role in providing free medical services through the organization’s non-political charitable initiatives.
Furthermore, Reddy discussed various projects, including the installation of a dynamic lighting system at Osmania University’s Arts College, plans for lighting and sound systems to promote the history of Osmania University, and the allocation of funds for sports infrastructure improvement.
The Central government has sanctioned Rs.15 crore for the construction of two hostel buildings in OU’s first phase, with a focus on addressing student needs and fostering large-scale building construction projects.
Reddy reiterated the Central government’s commitment to Telangana’s development, particularly in the city of Hyderabad.(UNI)
