Chhattisgarh Congress elects Deepak Baij as its new leader.
New Delhi, July 12 :The Congress has appointed Deepak Baij as the new president of the party’s state unit of Chhattisgarh.According to a comunique issued by Congress general secretary in-charge of Organisation KC Venugopal on Wednesday, party president Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed the MP as the chief of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect.”Congress President has appointed Deepak Baij, MP as President of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, with immediate effect,” the release said.It added, “The party appreciates the contribution of the outgoing PCC President Mohan Markam, MLA.”Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh is scheduled to held later this year.
