Azamgarh (UP), July 4 :Four persons were killed and one more was injured after being hit by lightning in Mehnagar area of Azamgarh district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here.
Police sources said that five persons of Barwa Sagar Mahmoodpur village had gone to graze their cattle.”While they were grazing cattle in the evening, a downpour started during which they were hit by lightning,” they said.Sources said that Shashi Kala (50), Shailesh Yadav alias Babbu (16), Aman (15) and Anurag Yadav were killed on the spot.”Aman Yadav (16) was injured in the incident and has been admitted to a private hospital,” they said.Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath while expressing his condolence over the loss of lives due to lightning in Azamgarh has directed to distribute a relief amount of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased immediately.He has directed the officials to ensure proper treatment to the people injured in this disaster.(UNI)
