Telangana’s chief minister sends happy workers’ day to all.
Hyderabad, May 1 : On the occasion of May Day and International Workers Day, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Monday extended greetings to all hardworking and professional workers who sweat out in their professions and indirectly participating in the development of the society.
In a message, KCR made it clear that the government will continue its efforts to bring a qualitative change in the lives of workers in the entire country in the same spirit the Labour welfare programmes implemented in the state.
He said that wealth is being created in this world only through the hard work and the sacrifices of the hardworking people which are the foundations for strong building of the universe.
Rao explained that the state government is implementing slew of welfare schemes with the aim of improving living standards of the workers and farmers.
An amount of Rs 6 lakh is being paid to the family in case a worker died due to accident, the Chief Minister said from 2014 to 2023, the state government extended Rs 223 crore financial assistance to 4001 affected families.
In case of disability due to the accident, Rs 5 lakh each is provided and 504 disabled workers have got Rs 8.9 crore assurance till date, he said.
KCR said Rs 30,000 is being paid as maternity benefit to woman for two deliveries and added that from 2014 till date, the government provided Rs 280 crore assistance to 35,796 families.
Rs 1 lakh is paid to the families of the workers in case of their death due to any reason and the government had paid Rs 94 crore to 1,49,536 dependents of workers.
Rao said the government also provided Rs 98 crore for the funeral of 39,797 deceased workers.
During the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic,the state government had spent Rs 1,005 crore under various programmes, he added.(UNI)
