Jayant, an NCP leader, was expelled from the Mah Assembly.
NAGPUR, DEC 22 :Maharashtra Assembly speaker Rahul Narvekar suspended NCP leader Jayant Patil for allegedly using unparliamentary words towards the speaker for not allowing oppositions members to speak.
Patil was suspended till end of the winter session on using unparliamentary words towards the speaker.
This happened after the opposition leader Ajit Pawar demanded to allow Shiv Sena leader Bhaskar Jadhav to speak but the speaker Rahul Narvekar rejected the demand saying he was given a chance as the Leader of Opposition (LoP).
To this, NCP leader Jayant Patil expressed his anger and said “you should not be so shameless”.
After Jayant Patil’s statement, the ruling party became more aggressive and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde demanded the suspension of Jayant Patil for one year, forcing the house to be adjourned for 10 minutes amid the commotion.
