HYDERABAD, DEC 9 : YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) President Y S Sharmila on Friday held a dharna in front of the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar on Tank Bund here in protest against denial of permission by the government for her ‘Praja Prasthanam Padayatra’ in the state.
Police reached there and arrested her.
Sharmila was released later and was shifted to her residence at Lotus Pond here.
She continued the dharna at Lotus Pond by squatting on the road and accused the state government for suppressing her voice.

The YSRTP President said that she took up Praja Prasthanam Padayatra to know the problems of the people. However, the government has refused the permission.
She claimed that there was a huge response from people for her padayatra.
Sharmila also condemned police for arresting party activists who are on their way to participate in the dharna.(UNI)
