Protection and restoration of natural resources must for economic development: Sinha
Jammu, Sept 15: Participating in a plantation program, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said that protection, restoration, and regeneration of natural resources are prerequisites for economic development.
On the second day of his visit to Kishtwar district, Sinha participated in a program organised by NHPC Dulhasti Power Project.
“Our progress is inherently linked to environmental resources. We must preserve our traditional life-sustaining system and maintain ecological integrity. Protection, restoration, and regeneration of natural resources are prerequisites for economic development,” said the Lt Governor.
The Lt Governor, along with Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, and Nitishwar Kumar, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor planted Apple seedlings at Chenab Bhawan, NHPC Dulhasti Power Station. (UNI)
