New Delhi, Sep 2 :Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday congratulated Indian Naval Design Bureau and Cochin Shipyard as first Indian made aircraft carrier INS Vikrant was commissioned today.

“Many congratulations to the Indian Navy, the Naval Design Bureau and Cochin Shipyard for the many years of hard work that has made the vision of INS Vikrant come true,” said Rahul Gandhi.

“India’s first indigenously built aircraft carrier, Vikrant is a significant step for India’s maritime security,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the commissioning ceremony of INS Vikrant, the first indigenous aircraft carrier, at the Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi on Friday. He also unveiled the new Naval Ensign or Nishaan.(UNI)
