Hyderabad, August 2 : The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO, Station Ghanpur, Jangaon district when he was allegedly accepting a bribe amount of Rs 1.4 lakhs.

The Accused Officer (AO) Deshagani Kumaraswamy was caught by ACB in front of Maheshwari Pharmacy near Sumangali Function Hall, NGOs’ colony, Hanmakonda when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 1.4 lakhs from the complainant Sarugu Venkata Kishore, Panchayat Secretary, Inavolu (V&M) of Hanumakonda district, to do the official favour– to issue the Last Pay Certificate (LPC) to the complainant, a ACB statement here said.

The tainted bribe amount of Rs 1.4 lakh was recovered from the possession of AO at his instance. The AO performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

Deshagani Kumaraswamy was being arrested and produced before the First Addl. Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, here, the statement added.(UNI)
