CPM takes out a rally in Kakinada denouncing Govt for spiraling prices

Kakinada, July 11: As a part of the state wide stir, the district unit of the CPI (M) took out a protest rally from Sundaraiah Bhavan to the Dharna chouk here on Monday and staged a dharna against the price rise and various problems being faced by the people of the district.

They raised slogans demanding stringent steps to control the prices of essential commodities, reduce the hiked electricity tariff and bus charges, and the prices of gas, petrol, and diesel.

They also demanded inclusion of all 59 villages in sub plan area in to ITDA, sanctioning of new ration cards to all the eligible and put an end to the collection of garbage collection charges .

Party state committee member AV Nageswerarao, M Suryarao addressed the protesters criticizing both the state and central governments for their anti –people policies and failure in mitigating the suffering of the people.

K Virababu, Tirumalasetti Nageswerarao, Ch Ajaykumar, Koneti Raju, P.Virababu, Tekumuri Eswerarao, Viraveni and Bhulakshmi led Monday’s dharna.

Later they called on the Collector Kritika Shukla and presented a representation containing the demands charter basing on the party’s findings during the door to door campaign conducted all over the district in the last month.(UNI)
