Kakinada, June 18 : A large number of students, who holds allegiance to SFI and DYFI, staged ‘dharna’ in front of the collectorate here on Saturday in protest against the preventive arrests of student union leaders in the wake of agitation of the unemployed youth against Agnipath recruitment scheme.

They raised slogans denouncing the arrest of SFI district secretary Raja, city secretary Suribabu and other leaders ‘under the pretext of preventive arrests and shifting them to various police stations in the early hours’.

They demanded immediate withdrawal of the central government’s decision on Agnipath army recruitment and also release the arrested student leaders.
