Assam flood: PM assures full support from the Centre
New Delhi, June 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday spoke to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and took stock of the flood situation in the state.
The PM also assured him of all possible help and support from the Centre.
“At 6 am today, PM Narendra Modi Ji called me to enquire about the flood situation in Assam. While expressing his concerns over the hardships being faced by people due to this natural calamity, the PM assured all help from Central Government. Humbled by his reassuring generosity,” Sarma said in a tweet.
At least 11 lakh people in 25 districts including Hojai and Nagaon have been affected by floods caused due to incessant rainfall.
According to the state government data, 1,510 villages under 72 revenue circles are currently underwater. (UNI)
