Marathwada logs 25 new Covid cases
Aurangabad,Mar 2 : Maharashtra’s Marathwada region recorded 25 fresh cases of Covid 19 while one person died due to the infection in the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Wednesday. As per health authorities, Beed district remained the highest contributor with seven fresh cases followed by Aurangabad district which recorded five cases while Latur registered new four cases. Osmanabad, Parbhani and Nanded logged three new cases each. Hingoli and Jalna districts had no new cases, they further said. Maharashtra recorded 675 fresh cases of Covid-19 taking the total number of infections to 78,66,380. The state also registered five more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,43,706. However, with 1,225 recoveries in the last 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries to 77,12,568. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.04 per cent. At present, the state has 6,106 active cases. 104 fresh cases of Omicron was also recorded in the state. Hence, the tally of Omicron remain up to 4,734 while 4,509 patient’s were cured so far, they added. (UNI)
