2 children among 11 injured in gas blast at hospital in Kashmir

Srinagar, Mar 1 : At least 11 persons, including two children, were injured in an explosion caused by gas leakage in a Kashmir hospital on Tuesday. The blast took place in the Maternity and Child Care Hospital of Anantnag district in south Kashmir, officials said here, adding that the Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a probe into the incident. “The probe will be conducted by an Additional Deputy Commissioner level officer,” a government spokesman said, adding that the government would bear all the expenses of the injured. The officials said the blast took place near the ticket counter in the hospital. “The explosion took place due to a gas leak. The wounded include employees, attendants and children. All the injured received burn injuries and are being treated at the Government Medical College in Anantnag. Their injuries are not life threatening,” said an official. The government spokesman said all the injured have received minor superficial injuries.(UNI)
