Maha: Marathwada logs 64 new Covid cases
Aurangabad, Feb 21 : Maharashtra’s Marathwada region has recorded 64 new Covid-19 cases and one death, health authorities said on Monday. According to the district headquarters, of eight districts in the region, Aurangabad district recorded 16 cases and single death followed by Latur and Osmanabad, which reported 15 cases each. Beed registered 10 cases, Nanded six cases and Parbhani two Covid cases. Hingoli and Jalna districts did not report any case, they added. Meanwhile, 1,437 fresh cases of Covid-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total tally to 78,58,431. The state has also registered six deaths, taking the death toll to 1,43,582. Meanwhile, 3,375 patients have recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 76,94,439. The recovery rate currently stands at 97.91 per cent and the fatality rate at 1.82 per cent. There are 16,422 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different Covid centres and hospitals, the authorities said. As no new cases of Omicron were recorded in the state, the tally of Omicron remains at 4,456, they said adding 3,951 patients have recovered. (UNI)
